Go for the Goals
This year’s theme is inspired by the idea of collectively creating a world that prioritizes diversity, inclusion, equality, and sustainability.

Who: Public and School Libraries across Saskatchewan that provide resources for those who fall into the pre-K to 12 range.
Why: International Development Week (IDW), celebrated the first week of February every year, is an annual initiative that has engaged Canadians on global issues since 1991
Registration Deadline: January 20, 2025
Submission Requirements:

Create a display for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). (SCIC will email a printable SDG poster – physical poster can be mailed upon request)

Share the blurb about SCIC along with our logo on the display

Pair books, articles, or multimedia with at least 8 of the SDGs

Add call-to-action cards inviting patrons to learn how they can contribute to these goals and post it to a bulletin board

Add sticky notes or note cards with pins for students to add how they want to advance the goals locally

Send an image of your display to be entered to win 3 books from the list provided by SCIC.

Your library submission should take into account SCIC’s Value Statement: We are committed to the recognition of the dignity of all people and their right to self-determination, to the protection of the world’s fragile environment, to the equitable distribution of power, and to the promotion of global understanding, cooperation, peace and justice through mutual learning, partnership, transparency and solidarity.

Your library must agree to have the picture of their combined art project posted on SCIC’s social media channels (other information included with the photograph will be Library, Librarians Name, Location of the Library).
